How we got started
Lyndsay and Scott purchased their first gulf front condo on Pensacola Beach in 2009. When another unit in the same building became available in 2013, they decided to purchase it and use their first condo as a rental. Because Scott was busy running his restaurant business at the time and Lyndsay was a stay-at-home mom to their two toddlers, self-managing was not a viable option. They opted to use a management company instead.
Over the years, Scott and Lyndsay slowly built their real estate portfolio but still felt like they weren’t ready to take on managing the units themselves. They continued to rely on management companies. Although they were never fully happy with their management company, there was never anything significant enough to push Lyndsay and Scott to take over. And then came COVID. Like many other people, when the COVID shut down came along, Lyndsay and Scott began to re-evaluate their career paths.
At the time, Scott had been a restaurant franchisee for many years and was ready for a change. Also by this time, their two children were no longer toddlers, and Lyndsay was ready to begin her own career path. After a lot of discussion, they realized together that with Scott’s experience in managing 500 employees and balancing 25 million dollars in yearly gross sales, not to mention the maintenance projects that popped up along the way owning 30 restaurants combined with Lyndsay’s education in marketing and accounting (her education background includes a Bachelor’s degree as well as an M.B.A.) they could team up and finally start managing and marketing their own properties. What was even more helpful was that during this time, Scott’s daughter had moved to the Santa Rosa Beach area and was working in property management (she had previously worked for a large management company in Gulf Shores, AL). Madison was the perfect person to help Lyndsay and Scott make their dream a reality.
After many hours of brainstorming and collaboration, the three of them decided they knew enough about what management companies were doing WRONG and could use that knowledge to do things RIGHT, and thus Diving Pelican Realty + Rentals was born. During this time, Lyndsay also obtained her Florida real estate license so she would be able to scout out new properties for them to add to their portfolio. More recently, Lyndsay obtained her Broker’s license, which allows Diving Pelican to not only manage units that Scott and Lyndsay own, but to also manage the property’s of others as well. The three of them have been managing rentals for over 3 years now and are excited about the continued growth of their company.
Our Vision
Although we are a boutique property management company, we intend to continue to aggressively add more properties to our portfolio. We will do so, however, at a pace that allows us to offer diversifying options to our guests while not sacrificing the integrity and promises of superior customer service we make to our guests and to the property owners we represent. We will make sure we have all the tools and protocols in place to continue to provide exemplary service to our guests and property owners alike as we grow so that everyone has the stress-free vacation experience they deserve!

We recognize that as a traveler, your vacation ‘must haves’ are as diverse as the colors of the beautiful Gulf coast you will be visiting. Our guests can browse the properties on our site to pick their perfect rental or call our office, we can help you decide which property is best for you and your family! We are committed to providing an enjoyable vacation for our guests!

What makes us different
As a management company, our top two priorities are ensuring a top notch rental experience for our guests and treating the properties we are entrusted to manage as if they were our own. In order to enhance our guests’ experience, we focus on the following:
Communication
Making sure all guests’ questions prior to, during and after their stay are answered as soon as possible. It is not uncommon to get an inquiry in the middle of the night, which we answer as soon as we are notified!
Cleanliness
We have a wonderful working relationship with their cleaning staff. The cleaners are PHENOMENAL! Another constant you will see in their Airbnb and VRBO reviews is the word CLEAN. The cleaning team is awesome and is compensated accordingly.
Convenience
We work hard to stock our units as best as possible to make the guest’s stay is as hassle free as possible. In many of our units, we provide beach chairs and a beach wagon for the guests to use. We want our guests to be stress-free while on vacation and we do everything we can to help make that happen.
Affordability
We keep our rates reasonable and fair and in line with comparable properties. We also do not believe in adding unnecessary or hidden fees to our guests.
